STARFORCE – First Relic

Last year STARFORCE released an album called “First Relic“.

This album gathers a selection of the STARFORCE very first tracks from 2012. They were done before the debut album “Omniversal Oscillations“.

As a bonus track there is also “Alpine Glow Part II“.

The first part can be found on “Omniversal Oscillations“.

With this album you can enter the innocent touch and time before Synthwave evolved to its modern state.

The sound on “First Relic” represents the pure and retro STARFORCE sound from where the sound exploration initially started.

You can now listen to “First Relic” on Spotify and other digital stores!

The Legend Returns!

Yesterday on the 14 April 2020, Flash Arnold released a new track called “Running Wild” after 4 years of being silent!

Flash Arnold is quite a mysterious Synthwave artist, he actually hitted hard the scene years ago by releasing some 80s kick ass jams on SoundCloud.

Flash Arnold is also known for his collaboration on Perturbator‘s popular track “Sexualizer“.

After vanishing from the Synthwave scene 4 years ago… he comes back out of nowhere and releases some 80s hot action track with powerful electric guitar called “Running Wild”.

Check out the track here!

The Midnight – Los Angeles (Lueur Verte Remix)

Since we are all stuck at home with the Coronavirus lockdown, The Midnight announced few days ago a Remix Contest to help boredom during those hard times.

They let artists choose between 4 tracks, “Los Angeles”, “Explorers”, “The Comeback Kid” and “River of Darkness.
Remixes are quite fun to make usually, it’s a good way to show composition creativity with vocals.
It’s actually one of Lueur Verte’s favorite exercise to do, as he did many remixes in the past, it was a pretty good challenge to make specially knowing that there was a one week deadline!

Lueur Verte actually finished his entry for the contest in just 4-5 days.
You can listen to the remix below and compare it to the original track right under the remix.

Enjoy!

Original track by The Midnight:

Terminator Theme by Lueur Verte

Terminator has always been a source of inspiration for many Synthwave artists, not only for its incredible retro futuristic atmosphere but also for its dark and epic soundtrack.

Brad Fiedel’s work is very inspiring and has definitely marked a big step in the Retrofuture/Cyberpunk genre.

French artist Lueur Verte did a remake of the “Terminator Theme”, with this work, he makes his own tribute with some re-arrangement of the track.

Cover created by Lueur Verte

Skynet’s cyber war representation fits very well with Lueur Verte’s “Terminator Theme”.

The Endoskeleton has always been such a fascinating character, his strength and determination are feared by all.

You can download the track here.

Featured Artist : ROBORG

It’s been a long time since there was no “Featured Artist” posts on the website and it’s been also a long time since I haven’t heard something as good as the new single from ROBORG.

ROBORG is a Cyberpunk/Darksynth artist from Prague, Czech Republic, he is actually in the “Synthwave” scene since 2016 but his notoriety is sadly not as big as his talent.

ROBORG has delivered with his new single “Creator’ an amazing cyberpunk inspired work, a true masterpiece which is really close to Perturbator‘s composition skill. “Creator” is actually a single from ROBORG’s upcoming new album.

I have heard some demos from the upcoming album from ROBORG and all I can say is that it’s really promising!

Definitely one of the best cyberpunk artist to keep an eye on!

You can buy “Creator” and ROBORG’s other works here.

You can follow and support ROBORG on Soundcloud, Facebook, Instagram and Spotify.

Playmaker exists as a blog and as an independent label since 2009, it’s definitely one of the pioneers of this scene , they are specialized in cassette and vinyl releases since the past few years. Playmaker has been working with many big names of the scene and their quality of work is as big as their passion.

Head over Playmaker store to grab your copy of this classic release by Lueur Verte.

Featured Artist : Arcis

Arcis is a talented artist from Oslo, Norway which produces music with an authentic 80s feeling, there’s a lot of artists trying to emulate that authentic 80s sound but Arcis is definitely one of the best for successfully achieving it.

From the cold lands of Norway to the hottest summer days in Miami, Arcis’s music is intensively nostalgic and gives perfectly that Miami Vice feeling. This is the kind of music you want to listen while driving an offshore boat during the sunset.

The production behind Arcis’s music is really impressive, the choice of the instruments, the melodies, there’s a deep composition with serious skills. It’s hard to believe this was made nowadays, you can’t tell if the music is from the 80s or 2016.

Arcis released a fantastic EP in June named “Waves”, which is my favorite one from him, all the tracks are pure gems, one track from the EP got quite a lot of attention and popularity and became the “hit” from the release.

That track is “Speed Boat Theme” and the title fits perfectly with the feeling this track gives.

I also really love the track “Sunset Beach“. The EP got a stunning artwork made by Forces Creative.

Arcis really knows how to deliver quality content.

You can buy the Waves EP on Arcis’s Bandcamp page, and his other great releases that i didn’t mention.

Make sure to follow Arcis on SoundCloud and Facebook.

Featured Artist : Violaine

For the first time we are introducing a “Featured Artist” section on the website, it will features some new talents and our favorites artists of the moment.
We start today with a talented girl from Paris, “Violaine”.

I recently discovered her music on Soundcloud and I was pretty amazed by the production and the overall quality.

There’s a very deep nostalgic feeling trough her work, it reminds me of the Valerie Collective and the early Synthwave movement type of music.

It’s definitely an artist to keep an eye on !

Here’s my favorite track from Violaine :

Men Like You

So much nostalgia in those synths melodies, the bass is just amazing.

Judge by yourself.

Make sure to follow Violaine on SoundCloud and Facebook.

Lueur Verte – Trinity

Lueur Verte is back with a new single, a Cyberpunk inspired track full of futuristic synths which create a whole new soundscape that Lueur Verte never explored before. A futuristic city and a mysterious masked girl, that sounds just like an epic story, the journey is starting here.

“Trinity” is available as Name Your Price download on Lueur Verte’s Bandcamp page.

Artificial Afterlife Compilation

There is something new and exciting on the Aphasia’s Bandcamp page and it’s a compilation ! Artificial Afterlife is not the sequel of Futura Compilation which was our first compilation made by Aphasia’s artists back in 2012. Artificial Afterlife is a very special compilation because the concept behind the idea and the artists line-up was curated by STARFORCE. So this is basically a compilation by Starforce featuring its favorite artists, who have been asked to compose exclusive tracks for the compilation.

Artificial Afterlife brings something fresh and very interesting to listen to, there is a great variety of atmospheres which define Starforce’s taste. The choice of the artists is nicely made. A mix of the biggest names in the scene along with some amazing underrated talents.

This compilation is definitely a great way to discover new music and artists, especially when it’s a Free Download release !

You can listen and download the Artificial Afterlife compilation right here.
